“Pinaangat Nila Ang Aking Maselang Bahagi” Three Women Are Complaining Because They Were Allegedly Violated by Officers While Doing a Strip Search.
Three women who have relatives inside Pasay City Jail complained to Raffy Tulfo. They said that their private parts were unnecessarily examined every time they paid a visit to their relatives. Chyrel Pineta, Quennie Mijares, and Alexis Premacio were violated because they were made to undergo strip searches.
Pineda said that it took the police to take as long as 30 minutes to do the search. There were also three officials who handle the inspections.
Raffy then asked the woman the reason her relatives were in jail. She replied that her first-born was arrested because of illegal possession of a gun. His other child and her husband were taken because they were smoking an illegal substance.
The host found nothing offensive with the strip search as it was done by the same gender. Raffy also questioned if there were money involved and the woman answered none. He said he was trying to be subjective with the complaint and finding points from both sides.
Pineda protested, “Dati po sa likurang bahagi lang, pinaangat nila yung ano, ang aking maselang bahagi. Pati po sa harapan pinabubulatlat din nila.”
The complaining woman finds it offensive that her private parts are inspected during the strip search. However, Raffy said he finds nothing wrong in the practice. He said that in some instances, prohibited substances are placed inside condoms and then kept in the said areas.
According to Tulfo, authorities have been wondering how illegal drugs were transported inside prisons. One factor may be what he mentioned above. Tulfo thinks that violation only happens if the inspector penetrates the private areas with their finger.
Meanwhile, the women also complained about the policy of only bringing a limited amount of food inside the jail. The matter was later explained by Pasay City Deputy Jail Warden, Capt. Orlando Alicante. The officer explained that they were only following guidelines. There is a memorandum where foods which were uncooked or canned are not allowed inside the prison.
Apparently, complainants were told strip searches should only occur twice a week. However, it was contradicted by Tulfo who suggests it should be done all the time. The jail warden also agrees with the host.
The officer added that the three women who came to the show had been previously caught hiding forbidden items. A cigarette was seen hidden in Premacio’s behind. Mejares also has a record but said he will still look if Pineda has previous violations.
