Noven Belleza Might Be Charged With “Breach of Contract” If The Court Does Not Allow Him to Leave the Country for His Concert Abroad

Last month, famous balladeer and first champion of the amateur singing contest “Tawag ng Tanghalan”, Noven Belleza was arrested in Cebu for alleged r*pe charges. According to reports, he was accused of molesting a friend of his during Vice Ganda’s “Pusuan Mo si Vice Ganda sa Cebu,” where Noven guested. Now, the young singer’s camp is requesting authorities to allow him to travel to New Jersey to the USA for a concert.

According to a story published by Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP), his concert will be on August 12 and 13.

Reports stated that Belleza’s lawyer filed a request to Regional Trial Court Branch 7 Judge James Stewart Himalaluan to allow the singer to leave the country on August 10 in order to make necessary preparations for his concert.

“Accused is not a flight risk and his request for travel abroad for four days is necessary to comply with his singing engagement,” according to his legal counsel Atty. Leilani Villarino.

Atty. Villarino added that her client and his road manager has already signed the contract for the said concert way before the r*pe charges were filed against him. She added that Belleza must attend the concert in order to avoid getting charged with “breach of contract” by the concert organizers.

The motion filed by Belleza’s camp even stated that the performer needs to attend the concert because this is his only source of income after winning the “It’s Showtime” segment.

In the motion, one line states, “The accused who was a farmer in Negros Oriental before he won the singing contest, has no other source of income to support his family other than his budding career.”

Belleza was arrested on July 16. He was charged with r*pe at first but his sentence was reduced to s*xual assault which is why he was allowed to bail out of his hospital arrest for a total of P120,000.
