The reigning "sexiest woman" in the country Nadine Lustre found herself in hot water for her straightforward remarks on her supposed cohabitation with boyfriend James Reid.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News last Friday, Lustre did not confirm nor deny the issue, but she vocally expressed her stand on living together.
"I mean, if that was true, so what? Hindi ba? It's not new anymore," she said. "There are younger couples -- mas young pa sa akin [who are already living together]. It's normal na eh. Come on, guys, it's 2017!"
Many expressed their disapproval, saying that she should have been extra careful with her statements since she is a celebrity with massive followers.
On Thursday night, during her contract signing as brand ambassador of Sony Philippines, Lustre was asked for her reaction to her bashers. She just smiled and claimed she doesn't really mind getting negative comments.
"Normal naman po 'yon talaga na hindi mo talaga mapi-please lahat. And as for me naman po, hindi naman po ako nagfi-filter ng isasagot ko kasi bakit po ako magsisinungaling?" she said.
She added, however, that while she and Reid try to be as honest as possible, there are certain limitations, too, especially as far as their privacy is concerned.
"Siyempre kasi, 'yong mga ibang bagay naman na po na 'yan, parang hindi naman na po kailangang i-broadcast or sabihin pa sa iba. Parang sa 'min na lang po 'yon," she said.
The 23-year-old actress also added that her relatives, particularly her parents, are aware of her life decisions. "I don't hide anything from them. So sila, 'Basta okay ka, okay sa 'min.'"
Meanwhile, when asked if she has plans of getting married soon, Lustre said it is not yet an option for now.
"Marami pa po kasi akong gustong gawin, so ngayon po hindi ko pa po talaga iniisip," she said.
