Police in Taiwan have finally located the mother of a missing child, three years after a social worker first reported the child missing.
Ms. Su, age 32, was wanted in connection to the disappearance of her 11 month old baby girl.
Ms. Su worked at a local hostess bar. She’d been married and gave birth to two children with her first husband before divorcing and granting custody of the children to him. Ms. Su had left a son in the custody of her second husband. Then she’d become pregnant again with a daughter, but wasn’t sure who the father was.
Ms. Su and her young daughter moved in with her then boyfriend, a 24 year old man identified by his last name Xu. Xu was often impatient with the baby girl, frequently hitting her and throwing her across the room. After one such incident, the couple was visited by a social worker who scheduled counseling for the family.
Unfortunately, one day Mr. Xu lost his temper with the baby girl and slammed her head into the floor. The baby became silent, deathly silent, and the couple realized she’d died from her injury.
Together, the couple disposed of the tiny body, dismembering it and defleshing it with knives and scissors. They flushed the flesh and organs down the toilet and separated the bones and tiny skull into four bags. They threw the bags out with the garbage.
The couple then moved out, quietly disappearing, before the social worker realized they were gone and filed a missing child report for the baby girl.
When police arrived to question Ms. Su, she confessed everything, saying that the guilt had been eating her alive for the past 3 years and now she could confess and get it off her chest.
